I seem to be a big fan of night flying.
Maybe it's because I don't want to 'waste' a day by spending it on a plane. Or maybe it's because I think I'm more likely to get some sleep and avoid any jet lag.
Whatever the reason, all the long-haul flights I've been on have been at night.
It's great fun to take off in the dark in one country and land in brilliant sunshine in another. Gives a real boost of energy to be arriving during the day - and I am sure that must help avoid the evils of jet lag.
Of course, I never get as much sleep as I expect. Nor read as much as I expect. Instead I usually end of nodding off for a few dozes here and there, watching a film and spending the rest of the flight eating / drinking / fidgeting.
And I wouldn't have it any other way.
