Sanitisation

Looking into a couple of interesting bugs today. Both of which display themselves as increased stats on a social media update.

But both had quite quite different causes (I think!).

In the first, data from a third party isn't quite what we might expect it to be and so we need to do a bit of sanitisation on what we are told.

In the other, our back-end systems have got themselves into a bit of a pickle and are effectively triple-counting some things. The solution is a bit of sanitisation on exactly who's listening to what.

Sanitisation is very much the name of the game today. Making sure everything is sane. Things can quite easily get crazy!
